It's the colours you have, no need to be sad

Agh, I haven't posted in a long time, I'm incredibly bad at this. I'll just blame my camera for the lack of posts as it means I can't do a birthday post with photos of everything I was lucky enough to receive. School is getting so cray right now, so little time, so much to do. Oh my god, I've just discovered a piece of pizza wedged in between the O and L keys on my keyboard. That is absolutely disgusting. Just checking in to inform you that I haven't fallen off the face of the planet but that I've been busy reading and working. I have some book reviews coming up soon, one of which features the fabulous John Green, whose writing I have fallen in love with again after being seriously put off by The Fault in Our Stars.

I'm probably a little more active on tumblr and twitter than on here, so do feel free to stalk me on there.

Bookworm Problem #2

Reading your book constantly and carrying it around the house, only to put it down and not be able to locate it again.

366 days...

...UNTIL I AM AN ADULT.

This is so crazy. I still feel like a five year old, yet in one year and one day's time, (legally speaking) I'll be an adult. I don't think I like this idea. I hate responsibility and I don't want to grow up. Is anyone else not looking forward to leaving childhood behind? Because I'm freaking terrified.

April

The Host was absolutely amazing! I usually am a massive snob about reading the book before seeing the film but I had to break the rule on this occasion: I'm not a big fan of Stephenie Meyer's writing style and didn't really want to buy another of her books for this reason. However, the storyline is just so original and the ending was absolutely perfect! I definitely recommend it.

I've also been to visit my grandparents and uncle at the weekend and, as I won't be seeing them again before my birthday, they gave me my presents now. I can't even tell you how excited I am to read these books! I powered through 'One Day' because I'd heard such good things about it, and it may have snuck up into my top five books! It's so fantastic. It tells the story of two best friends over about sixteen years, focusing just on One Day every year - the 15th July. It's really interesting to read about the changes they go through from graduating from uni all the way to when they're in their late thirties, and the huge changes in society from 1988 to 2004. 4.9 stars out of 5, so brilliant.

I also got Made in Chelsea, series 1 - 3 on DVD which I am, again, mega excited to get through! Agghh, just need to find the time now! In addition to the Bastille and Ellie Goulding CDs below, I also got The Staves' first album, Dead, Born, and Grown. They're three sisters from Watford who specialise in harmonies and soft, folk-acoustic style music. The CD is currently in my dad's car and I'll have to prise it away from him at some point.

And would a seventeenth birthday be complete without a box of chocolate and a One Direction secret diary with a padlock from a friend? I don't think so.

Have you guys read any of these books or heard good things about them?

See this? I reblogged this like a month ago because I thought it was really funny and I was like yeah yeah, I've played football for eight years and that's never happened, that doesn't happen, haha. So guess what happened to me yesterday? This, exactly. I was attempting to get the ball off a girl who was trying to get around me to score. Then she apparently decided I was in her way too much, because she grabbed my ponytail and yanked my head down, pulling me away from the ball. I literally could not lift my head, she still had hold of my hair. It was about a minute from the end though, so we didn't get a free kick or anything. I guess it was pretty funny afterwards though, but it bladdy hurt!

Anyway, I hope you all have a great day!

Easter shenanigans!

They've changed the layout of the posting page. This has really unsettled me... anyway, happy April! I hope all of your Easters have been filled with fun, laughter and chocolate. My little Easter chocolate stash doesn't look very impressive:

But those Guylian truffles are actually heaven in a wrapper so I'm not complaining. Does anyone else still do Easter egg hunts in the garden? Is that just us? We-ell, there was actually some blue sky on the day, I swear we hadn't seen any for about three weeks or something.

And, whilst revising for history, I got distracted by the last line of this paragraph. Is it only me who finds this so freaking hilarious? (#HistoryBanter)

Anyway, I have to go and clean the kitchen and hoover the house. Just call me Dobby, the amount of housework I do in the holidays is so crazy! I'm going to see The Host today (I LOVE Saoirse Ronan!) and am also having Nando's as it's my joint birthday meal with my best friend. If I manage to put together a decent outfit, I might put a photo up later. Have a lovely day, everyone!
